What can you do to upgrade your life right now? RESULTS: DETOX
Your highest-impact upgrade is: DETOX.
Your answers indicate that you could use a system cleanup. A lot of these things you’re dealing with may point to a sluggish liver or slow elimination, and not just the bathroom kind. Remember, sweating and your lymph networks are huge detox mechanisms that can get congested and slow, too.
The good news is, nobody’s going to tell you to do a juice fast. (Phew!) Instead, here are a few things you can do to help your body take out the trash, consistently and efficiently.
Over time, cells accumulate dead organelles, damaged proteins, and oxidized particles that interfere with cell function and accelerate aging. Autophagy is the body’s method of recycling the junk in your cells, which keeps you young. It’s the cellular equivalent of burning your trash to stay warm.
The best way to trigger autophagy is intermittent fasting.
Intermittent fasting is the process of cycling in and out of periods of eating and not eating. There are lots of ways to do it — some methods require you to skip eating or drastically drop your intake one or two days a week. A more sustainable way is to eat for the day in a 6-8 hour window, and restrict your food intake for the other 14-16 hours.
The easiest way to avoid feeling hungry during your fasting window is to cut your carbs down before you start to control your blood sugar, and to have a cup of Bulletproof Coffee in the morning. The fat from the butter and Brain Octane Oil won’t mess with the autophagy process like carbs and protein do, and it will keep you full well into the afternoon. Here’s how to make it.
To level up autophagy in your cells, add a protein fasting day to your week. That’s when you restrict your protein intake to less than 15g for the day.
Vitamin C + Glutathione
Glutathione is the most powerful antioxidant in your body. It recharges antioxidants after your body uses them, so taking it with vitamin C (also an antioxidant) gives you a free radical fighting boost.
Your body makes its own glutathione and uses it to combat inflammation, infections, stress, and toxins from your diet and environment. Exposure to toxins in any form, like breathing in city air, drinking, illness, or working a stressful job can burn through your glutathione stores quickly. That’s when you can use a little help from a glutathione supplement.
As you walk around day-to-day, you build up a positive charge in your cells, which saps your energy and causes inflammation. The earth has a mild negative charge, so walking barefoot in the grass or along the beach brings you back to neutral.
We’ve felt and measured the effects. That’s why outfitted the Bulletproof Cafe with two ways to connect to the earth’s charge:
1. Sip at the tables. We wired our tables to the earth, so the earth’s electrons transfer up to anything that touches them. You can get all the benefits of grounding with 20 minutes of contact — just enough time to sip on a Bulletproof Coffee and plan an awesome day.
2. Stand on the grounding pad. Kick off your shoes and dose yourself with a day’s worth of electrons.
Stop in daily to ground yourself — it only takes a few minutes. After a while, let us know if you feel a difference in your sleep, your energy, or your stress over time.
Calcium-d-Glucarate (CDG) is a natural compound that humans and animals make in their bodies. Small amounts are also found in fruits and vegetables. Early humans were able to get enough calcium-d-glucarate from their own production since they ate relatively low amounts of toxins and lived in a clean environment. As toxin exposure has increased, humans need more calcium-d-glucarate to help excrete the extra toxins.
When calcium-d-glucarate is taken in capsule form, it’s metabolized into glucaric acid. This is the active form of calcium-d-glucarate and the one produced naturally by the body. Glucaric acid binds to toxins in the stomach which are then removed in the urine. Glucaric acid is also circulated around the body where it performs the same function – scavenging and releasing toxins. Removing toxins from the liver will increase liver function and promote a healthy metabolism. It will also allow your liver to flush out other toxins that would otherwise cause problems.
If you’re overloaded with toxins, an infrared sauna can quickly and effectively help you get back to feeling amazing again. Sauna therapy has been around for centuries as a way to detoxify your body, but did you know that full spectrum infrared saunas can go even further by heating up your body’s core to a cellular level, where most toxins are stored?
Infrared’s deep penetrating heat is what most effectively stimulates metabolic activity, which in turn triggers the release of stored toxins through sweat, as well as through the liver and kidneys.
Think about it: this is why your body goes into fever conditions when you’re sick— a hotter body increases metabolic activity, kills unwanted intruders, and stimulates the release of toxins. Viruses and sometimes even tumor cells can be destroyed in the face of heat.
Toxins from low-quality processed food and environmental pollution can sap your energy and contribute to everything from brain fog to digestive issues. Chronic exposure to toxins produces cellular damage, allergic reactions, compromised immunity, and rapid aging. Regular use of activated charcoal can remove unwanted toxins from your body, leaving you feeling renewed and more vibrant, often within minutes.
The porous surface has a negative electric charge that attracts positively charged unwanted toxins and gas. Hospitals activated charcoal to soak up poisons or other toxins. It works through a process called “adsorption” which means “to bind to” rather than “to absorb.”
But activated charcoal is so much more than an antidote for drugs and poisons. It’s a global remedy for general detoxification, digestive health, gas, bloating, heart health, and anti-aging.
Ways to use Coconut Charcoal:
- To minimize the effects of occasional alcohol periodically to sweep up normal toxic exposures
- Right after having kryptonite foods (hey, we all slip up!)
- Periodically to sweep up toxins from normal food and environmental exposures
