Keto Cinnamon Roll Protein Balls

Protein balls recipe & content provided by Rosie Tran, Kale In The Clouds

These protein balls pack all the same benefits of a collagen protein bar in a poppable little bite. As a frequent flyer, I don’t always pack collagen bars in my bags — either because they are too filling, or they take up too much space. These protein balls are the perfect travel-ready solution and only take a few minutes to prepare.

Collagen peptides are one of my favorite supplements to take every day. Among its health benefits, collagen protein strengthens bones and joints, promotes hair and nail growth, supports healthy skin, aids digestion, and improves gut health. Since it’s flavorless and effortlessly dissolves into recipes, collagen is also an easy supplement to work into your day.

Paired with healthy fats, these protein balls transform collagen into a sweet treat without any sugar. The natural sweetness in nuts, vanilla, and cinnamon make these protein balls taste like cinnamon rolls — perfect for pairing with coffee at home or enjoying on the run to your next flight.

These poppable protein balls taste like a warm cinnamon roll, all while packing in gut-loving, skin-smoothing benefits from collagen peptides.

Start to Finish: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 heaping scoop Vanilla Collagen peptides
  • 1/3 cup raw macadamia nuts
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 2 tablespoons Brain Octane Oil or MCT oil
  • 2 teaspoons monk fruit-erythritol blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ceylon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Place all items except collagen into a food processor and blend for 3 minutes or until well mixed, stopping to scrape down the sides of your container as needed.
  2. Add collagen and blend again on low speed, or mix in by hand until incorporated.
  3. Lather hands with Brain Octane or another neutral oil to prevent sticking. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll into roughly 1-inch balls.
  4. Sprinkle additional cinnamon on top to taste. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Note on ingredients: Except for coconut, all nuts are considered “suspect” on the Bulletproof Diet because of their high levels of omega-6 fats that can oxidize and contribute to inflammation. Nuts are also susceptible to mold and contain lectins, nutrient-sapping compounds that can be tough on your gut. Use nuts in moderation, or remove them from your diet and reintroduce in small amounts to test your sensitivity.
