Mark Divine is from upstate New York and did his formal undergraduate education at Colgate University. His years at Colgate University were focused on the athletic endeavors of competitive swimming, rowing and triathlon racing.

Mark pursued a Ph.D. in Leadership at the University of San Diego and served as an Adjunct Professor of Leadership in their undergraduate school. The Doctorate was interrupted by a one-year recall to active duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom. The recall took him to Baghdad in 2004 with SEAL Team One to conduct a special project studying the future role of the USMC in the Special Operations Command. Upon return home he left USD to focus on developing SEALFIT and put his Unbeatable Mind training philosophy to work on a new generation of Special Ops candidates.

  • Excellent podcast Dave!

I was waiting for the opportunity to hear this since you had told me over the phone a podcast of this nature was coming out soon, took notes to continue applying more things so at least when I explain what’s referred to to as this “sixth sense” it doesn’t sound as if I belong in a mental ward. Seriously……. I feel like some kind of “superhuman cult” promoter at this point with how many people asking that I have influenced to invest in some of the biohacking tools and what not (most prominently the emWave2, coffee and the diet) from their asking in the noticeable changes in my physical appearance and social interactions. I can’t help it they keep asking lol. By the way serrapeptase (I suspect), supplementation and the diet stomped my gynocomastia……..another “bulletproof win” in the bag.

Keep up the good work its appreciated!

  • Wow Mark Devine was seriously one of the more interesting guests I’ve heard on Bulletproof Exec Podcast! I look forward to delving into his information!

  • Hey Dave,

    Great show.

I’m curious about the techniques you mentioned about using sounds and flashing lights to help with focus and attention. Is there a previous post about that?

  • Moe Norman Jr

Phenomenal podcast! One of my faves so far, without doubt.

I would love to hear more about getting your conscious and mammalian/reptilian brain on the same page. Is that done with the brain hacking methods (emwave/meditation/EEG neurofeedback), of which you speak? Or is there more to it?

Thanks for all that you do! It has changed my life and really amped up my pursuit of the pga tour, so truly, thank you.

Dave, for all the “accomplishments” of your guest you seemed to gloss over (or ignore) the fact that this man most (in)famous accomplishment was to improve the efficiency of the US military in executing defenseless Iraqis without having to deal with the (normal) human reaction of PTSD. This is obviously not an achievement in any human sense. At its core bio-hacking and human self development should have some moral compass beyond just mechanistic improvement of the human machine. Your guest is a war criminal, someone who is educated who knew better. Your introduction seemed to suggest that he “served his country” by executing people without having to feel the normal cognitive and emotional reaction of distress, sadness, and regret. I can’t support amoral biohacking and you shouldn’t either no matter how “interesting” someone is.

    • AJ

Your comment about executing innocent civilians is laughable. I have read your posts. I suppose you are the same type of person who would let another country just walk onto our soil and take over our country. How do you suppose we defend ourselves if men like Mark Divine dont step up to the plate and defend our country? Do you want to wait until people that want to cause harm to Americans come over to our country before we do anything to stop them? You live in a make believe world where violence is not needed and everybody loves each other. Tell that to the private security contractors that were killed in Iraq and dragged behind a car for everyone to see. The reality is that there is a large group of people who want to kill innocence. Someone has to stand in their way. Like USMC 002 said, you are a sheep.

  • kalidestroyer

Btw, I almost puked when you suggested that he was “killing for a good cause” at 8:10. Dave, most of your listeners are rabidly anti-war. Why didn’t you ask how many people he killed, how many he tortured, and where are the weapons of mass destruction. Will you next interview a North Korean prison warden who runs caloric restriction experiments on his inmates.

    • 0802 USMC

That’s why you’re a sheep, and that’s why people like us are the sheepdogs. You hate us when you don’t need us, but you run behind us when the wolf approaches. I’m ok with this, as Cdr Divine is. It’s an ugly world out there that you need not worry about. Please continue expressing your opinion- it’s your right- but respect those that do more than you’ll ever read about on CNN or Huffington Post.
      A.W.- USMC

      • kalidestroyer

You’re a “sheepdog” because you got paid by the most powerful government in the world to kill defenseless Afghanis, Iraqis, and Pakistanis? i don’t read CNN or Huffington Post which are mostly pro-war. “Sheep” is generally used to refer to people who follow the standard believes and practices of their society. Most people in the US are pro-war and think nothing of the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people killed by their government. They reflexively support war and are pledge their obedience to the state. I’m sure you have no shortage of fans who heap praise on you and “thank you for your service” for killing foreigners in their name. These are the sheep passively obey their power structures orders. You are not part of the power structure as a US Marine, your fantasies about being a “sheepdog” notwithstanding.

        • Poop on your face

“Defenseless Iraqis, Afghans, and Pakistanis”. That is so hypocritical. Have you seen what goes on over there? They are not innocent and will die or kill anything that is not supporting their cause. I suppose you have an alternative to violence. Stop spreading your hypocritical alternative thinking, unless you have a solution.

        • ScubaDan

You ought to be there when a child walks up to you with a bomb strapped to him and goes off… Defenseles …. You anti military folks have NO CLUE as to what goes on behind the scenes and that won’t get covered do to either graffic or security breech…
You need to be grateful your neighbor’s child or wife is not sent out to destroy or barn others… Bless America and what she stands for not what you want to create as you go
          SEMPER FI.

      • “and that’s why people like us are the PUPPETS OF ISRAEL”

        There, fixed it for ya.
